Over the past 20 years the American machine tool industry has undergone significant changes. The dominant companies of the past have downsized, merged or gone out of business. With the machine tool base now approaching 40 - 50 years old and the technical expertise retiring this has created some very serious support limitations.

Most major manufacturing companies have recognized these limitations and are now faced with reduced productivity, aging equipment and a work force that generally has less than 5-10 years of experience, the list goes on..
